Vacationing 17-year-old boy dies in crash on I-95 near Brunswick

A member of a vacationing South Carolina family was killed and five others injured late Monday in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 just north of Glynn-Camden county line, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Lyndon Anderson, 47, of Duncan, S.C., was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition south on I-95 just before 6 p.m. when the vehicle blew a tire and overturned, Pfc. Kevin Ziegler of the Georgia State Patrol said.

Lyndon Anderson Jr., 17, was killed, one family member was flow to UF Health Jacksonville and the senior Anderson and three others were taken to Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick hospital, Ziegler said.

The family member taken to UF Health was reported in fair condition, Ziegler said.

The family was traveling to the Orlando area on vacation when the accident occurred, he said.

The Glynn County police assisted the state patrol at the scene, and the highway was closed briefly for investigation.
