Strong storms whip up winds, damage homes and bring down trees in north and central Georgia

SEGAZINE

A fast-moving line of thunderstorms with strong winds sent trees toppling into several homes, including one where an 11-year-old boy was injured early Friday when a pine smashed into his bedroom.

Six trees fell into Karen Gottschalk’s home in Cobb County, including the one that demolished her son Tanner’s room.

“I couldn’t find him so I was screaming his name,” Gottschalk told WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1jlKKGK). “The blood was just, his whole face was just streaming blood and I wasn’t sure where he was hurt.”
