One killed in Long County accident Wednesday

Georgia State Patrol officials have confirmed that a man was killed Wednesday afternoon in Long County when his vehicle collided head-on with another driven by a U.S. Army recruiter.

Trooper William Bowman said the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Georgia Highway 196 near Flowers Road.  According to the trooper, Jesse Parker, 35 was traveling eastbound in the direction of Hinesville when his Chevrolet S10 truck veered into the westbound lane striking Karl Stephan, 48, who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.
