A flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Satilla River at Atkinson until further notice.
At 9:45 a.m. Monday the stage was 15.4 feet and minor flooding is occurring and more minor flooding is forecast.
The river flood stage is 13 feet.
The forecast calls for the river to continue to fall to a stage of 15.2 feet by tomorrow morning.
At at 14 feet River Rock Road begins to experience flooding across the road and at 13 feet Warner Landing, Louis Landing and secondary roads around KOA campgrounds begin to flood.
The river at Waycross is below flood stage but downstream at Atkinson it will be another week before the river falls below flood stage.
