Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Hwy 121 S in reference to Theft by Taking. Complainant stated an unknown subject stole their tile saw.
Steven Newman (47) was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Deputies were called to the residence in reference to a dispute. Mr. Newman made threats and was throwing items around the yard. Newman was transported to the Brantley County Detention Center.
Deputies responded to Lynn Haven Dr in reference to Entering Automobile. Complainant stated that some time while they were out running errands her purse was stolen.
Deputies met with complainant at the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Theft by Taking that occurred on Ern Rd. Complainant stated that a handgun has gone missing from their residence.
Deputies responded to Junior Trail in reference to Unlawful Dumping. Complainant stated the offenders had dumped couches and a mower on private property. When deputies arrived they were loading the stuff back up and admitted they had put it out in order to get rid of it. Offenders were given citations for Unlawful Dumping.
The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone to be cautious of scammers. These people will call and tell you that you are eligible for grants or other monies as well as expensive prizes like cars. They are trying to get you to send them money so that you may receive whatever it is they are promising and trying to get personal information. DO NOT give out personal information or send money to any of these callers. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Deputies responded to the area of Mineral Springs Rd in reference to Criminal Trespass. Complainant stated the neighbor’s horses are tearing down the fence between the properties and coming into their yard. The horses are eating from the garden the complainant has planted before the vegetables can be harvested.
Deputies responded to Knox Rd in reference to Entering Automobile. Complainant stated their vehicle was parked on a private road and someone entered the vehicle and took her purse.
Deputies responded to the 3800 block of Mattie Shuman Rd in reference to Criminal Damage to Property. Complainant stated someone had keyed their vehicle making several scratches and actually scratched a derogatory word on the trunk.
Deputies responded to the 6600 block of Central Ave in reference to Theft by Taking. Complainant stated they had let their blue pits out for approximately 30 minutes and when they went to let them back in they could not be found.
Deputies met with Pierce County detectives at the Nahunta Pawn Shop in reference to Theft by Deception. A mini bike had been stolen from Pierce County and was pawned at this location.
In other activity:
Deputies responded to Old Herrin Lake Road in reference to Vandalism. Complainant stated an unknown subject came to their property and broke light bulbs, busted windows, and broke several other items. The offenders also tried to gain access to the camper but were unsuccessful.
Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Central Ave (Pleasant Valley Church) in reference to Burglary. Complainant stated the offender gained entry to the church by busting a window to the storage room. Nothing was reported missing at this time.
Everett Hartman (35) was arrested and charged with DUI/Possession of Open Alcohol Container. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Hartman’s vehicle for failure to maintain lane. Contact was made and deputies smelled an odor of alcohol coming from the person of Hartman. Hartman admitted to drinking and driving. Hartman was transported to the Brantley County Detention Center.
Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Raybon Rd West in reference to Terroristic Threats and Acts. Complainant stated that the offender had been to their property and threatened bodily harm to them as well as yelling and cursing at them. Threatening text messages had also been sent to the complainant.
Deputies responded to Ponderosa Dr in reference to Criminal Trespass. Complainant stated that an unknown subject had damaged two of their rental properties. The walls had holes in them and an entertainment center was broken as well as the windows.
During patrol deputies checked on a vacant residence on Browntown Rd due to vandalism in the area. Deputies discovered Criminal Trespass/Theft by Taking had occurred. The inside of the home was damaged and wire was missing from the outlets.
William Roof (33) was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana less than Ounce. Deputies got information that someone was smoking marijuana down at the Satilla River Bridge sandbar. Upon arrival they got out with Roof and it was discovered he was on probation. Deputies asked to do a search of the vehicle Roof was in under his probation conditions which he consented to. Two marijuana cigarette butts were found. Roof was transported to the Brantley County Detention Center.
Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Ga Highway 520 in reference to Theft by Conversion. Complainant stated that the offender had stolen their pull behind trailer and pawned it in Pierce County.
Deputies responded to Parakeet Court in reference to Terroristic Threats and Acts. Complainant stated that the offender threatened to drive a truck through their home and burn them. The offender could not be located at the time of the report.
James R. Cox (20) was arrested and charged with DUI(alcohol)/Tag Light Required. During routine patrol deputies observed a vehicle with no tag light and performed a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Cox, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and Cox admitted to drinking beer. A breath test was administered and confirmed the presence of alcohol. Cox was transported to the Brantley County Detention Center.
Deputies went to Drury Lane in reference to Warrant Service. Nickolas Saylor (28) was detained and transported to the Glynn County line in reference to warrants they held for him. Nicholas Kline (30) is being held at the Brantley County Detention Center in reference to warrants out of Pennsylvania.
Adrian Beck (25) was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana less than Ounce/Possession and use of Drug Related Items/Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement. When asked for her I.D. Beck told deputies it was in her purse and gave them consent to get it. They smelled marijuana and found a small Ziploc bag inside the purse along with a smoking device. Beck kept giving deputies the wrong name for Kline. Beck was transported to the Brantley County Detention Center.
