Challenger wins Long commission seat

Challenger Willie Thompson beat incumbent Andy Fuller in Tuesday’s runoff race for the District 3 seat on the Long County Commission.

According to Long County Board of Elections member Patricia Smith-Johnson, the unofficial results showed Thompson receiving 101 votes, or 55.49 percent, and Fuller receiving 81 votes, or 44.51 percent. A runoff was required after no candidate garnered more than 50 percent in the March 12 general primary.
